Voices That Rise!
This collaboration with FEPA, an organisation building bridges between Switzerland and Zimbabwe, was more than a design commission — it was a storytelling moment.
The brief: craft visuals that celebrate the visit of Kumbi Kahiya, a Zimbabwean women’s rights activist and leader of the Girls and Women Empowerment Network (GWEN).
The challenge was to design materials that not only inform but ignite — reflecting the strength, vibrancy, and humanity behind Kumbi’s mission.
FEPA x Kumbi - MORE INFO
At the heart of this campaign was a woman who embodies courage. Our task: translate that energy into colour, form, and rhythm. Typography was bold but kind — legible, direct, and confident. Imagery of Kumbi stood front and centre: human, grounded, radiant.
Working with the FEPA team was a creative exchange across continents — ideas shared, colours tested, stories told.
The project blended design precision with cultural intuition, producing a full suite of materials:
- Poster & postcard series announcing Kumbi’s Swiss tour
- Print & digital visuals for FEPA’s 16 Days of Activism campaign
- Assets for social media and website use
- Visual templates for community events in Bern, Basel, Zürich, Luzern, and St. Gallen
The project followed three principles:
-
Visual Clarity: Direct communication, accessible typography, strong hierarchy.
-
Cultural Respect: Patterns and colour drawn from African aesthetics, contextualised for a Swiss audience.
-
Emotional Connection: A face, a name, a cause — design that makes you pause and care.
Through this approach, the campaign became more than promotion — it became presence.
The postcard was turned into an A4 printout to be used as a form of Advertisement for all the events that will occur across the Cantons above.
